Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was reported by The Daily Mail that a fee of £16m has been agreed with Hull City for Jarrod Bowen.

The 23-year-old's contract with the Tigers expires in the summer, although the Championship club do have the option to extend it by another year.

Hull have offered Bowen fresh terms, although The Daily Mail report that the prolific forward would prefer to move on - be it now or at the end of next season.

The former Hereford attacker has netted 16 Championship goals so far this term while recording seven assists, having scored 22 in the second tier in the 2018/19 campaign.

The Hull No.20 can play anywhere across the frontline and, since the start of the 2017/18 season, has been directly involved in more goals than any other player in the Championship - Bowen has scored 52 goals and grabbed 12 assists in that time.

His talents would presumably be welcomed by Roy Hodgson, as the south Londoners have scored the second-lowest amount of goals in the Premier League this term with 22 strikes in 24 outings - only Watford have netted fewer.

Let's see how the Crystal Palace fans on Twitter reacted to the news...

To kick off the discussion, these two fans seemed pleased by the news.

Mark said that the Eagles are using their "brains for once" while Chris said that he was "hoping" the south Londoners would go in for Bowen.

Elsewhere, these three supporters all mentioned Yannick Carrasco when reacting to the Bowen news.

The Belgium international has been linked with a move to Selhurst Park, although talks were proving difficult according to The Athletic's Dominic Fifield.

'Talk Crystal Palace' said that the Hull City talisman "is a far better signing than Carrasco" while Ryan echoed that sentiment, saying he'd "prefer Carrasco".

Additionally, Steve made the slightly presumptuous statement that it "looks like Carrasco is out of the picture now" - the Eagles could potentially still sign both Steve!

Lastly, Andy Lunn seemed overjoyed by the news, saying that if it is true, it is "made my season" - it's only January!
