Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after Deportivo Alaves confirmed on their official account that Victor Camarasa had left Selhurst Park to join the Spanish side.
✅ OFICIAL: @vicama8 vuelve al Glorioso 🤝
— Deportivo Alavés (@Alaves) January 13, 2020
The Spaniard’s move back home puts an end to what was an extremely strange loan spell with the Eagles, in which he barely kicked a ball under Roy Hodgson – Camarasa played just five Premier League minutes, as well as making one start in the Carabao Cup.
Additionally, the 25-year-old wasn’t even named in Hodgson’s matchday squad for 11 of the Eagles’ 22 Premier League outings so far this season, making his temporary switch to SE25 all the more peculiar.
Camarasa impressed while on loan at Cardiff last term with five goals and four assists in the Premier League, winning the Bluebirds’ Players’ Player of the Season award – however, it sadly hasn’t gone quite as well as it did in Wales.
The Real Betis man will spend the remainder of the current campaign on loan at Alaves.
Let’s see how the Crystal Palace fans on Twitter reacted to his departure…
— Mandy morgan (@mandyswagsta) January 13, 2020
This supporter named Mandy kicked off the reaction by revealing that she was “really excited” about Camarasa’s arrival back in the summer, although it just “didn’t quite work out” for the Spaniard.
Victor Camarasa is no longer a Crystal Palace player.
What a waste of time that was. https://t.co/MEUEjLpn6O
— HLTCO (@HLTCO) January 13, 2020
What an absolute waste https://t.co/G88TSQWPy1
— Aman 🦅 (@amancpfc) January 13, 2020
Elsewhere, these two fans both mentioned how the midfielder’s stay in south London was a “waste”.
HLTCO said that it was a “waste of time” while Aman simply said “what an absolute waste”, which could be referring to the move being a waste of time as well, or merely a waste of Camarasa’s talent.

Furthermore, CPFC NEWS HQ said that it was a “shame” that the former Palace No.23’s loan spell didn’t work out for him.

We are sorry Victor

It’s the dawn of a new decade in the Premier League, but how much do you know about the last 10 years?
Lastly, this pair of supporters both felt obliged to apologise to Camarasa for his failed loan spell as, in truth, he barely got a chance to prove himself under Hodgson – it truly was six months of the midfielder’s career wasted.
