Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after Victor Camarasa posted a farewell message on his official account, following the end of his loan spell at Selhurst Park.

The Spaniard was signed on a season-long loan deal from Real Betis back in the summer, although Roy Hodgson inexplicably handed him just five Premier League minutes and one start in the Carabao Cup.

Camarasa - who scored five goals and grabbed four assists for Cardiff last season, winning their Players' Player of the Year award - has since returned to Spain with Deportivo Alaves after his loan spell was cut short, where he will now spend the rest of the season in La Liga.

The 25-year-old's message reads: "Even though things didn't go as expected, I just wanted to thank the fans, the club and my teammates for the support during this period. It's a shame that I wasn't given the chance to prove myself and show my desire to succeed @CPFC! All the best, I will always support you from a distance. Good luck with the rest of the season."

In truth, this is a really classy message and something that Camarasa didn't need to do, as he was treated poorly in truth.

Let's see how the Crystal Palace fans on Twitter reacted to his words...

To begin the reaction, these two supporters showered Camarasa in praise for his statement.

HLTCO called it a "remarkably classy statement" while Danny Dell echoed our aforementioned thoughts that such a message wasn't necessary from the Spaniard, while also calling him a "brilliant professional".

Elsewhere, Chuks seemed to take aim at Hodgson following Camarasa's message, saying "party at mine" when the former England manager gets sacked - this fan seems unhappy with the 72-year-old's treatment of the midfielder, to say the least.

Furthermore, this pair of Crystal Palace fans expressed sorrow over the farewell message.

Luke said "I'm not crying I promise" after reading Camarasa's comments - implying that he was upset by his departing words, but didn't want anyone to know!

Another fan named James said that the club "didn't deserve him" as if to say that the Spaniard is too nice despite his poor treatment.

It's the dawn of a new decade in the Premier League, but how much do you know about the last 10 years?

Lastly, this fan decided to look at the playing side of things, stating that there was "so much wasted potential" on show - it seems like this supporter is still wondering what could've been.

In other news, Crystal Palace would make a mockery of their own reported "acceptance" with a swoop for this man...
