Crystal Palace boss looking to raid Newcastle

New Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew is ready to return to former club Newcastle to nab striker Papiss Cisse this month, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The current Eagles chief has enjoyed a fantastic start to life in the dugout in south London, with Saturday’s comeback victory against Burnley maintaining his 100% record at the helm of the club.

However, ‘Pards’ remains keen on bulking out his attacking options to help Palace avoid relegation, with Cisse an option.

Pardew is known to have a good relationship with the Senegal international, whom he brought to England from German side Freiburg in a £9.5m deal in 2012.

Cisse enjoyed an electric start to Premier League life with 13 goals in his first 14 outings, but the efforts dried up through the following seasons, with injuries playing their part.

The 29-year-old has, however, shown signs of life this term, finding the back of the net nine times in 13 outings.
