Crystal Palace chief wants ‘happy’ star to stay

Jason Puncheon has finally settled down at Crystal Palace, according to manager Tony Pulis.

The skilful winger has been one of the Eagles’ top performers under the guidance of the former Stoke boss, helping the newly promoted side to drag themselves away the drop zone after a woeful opening few weeks under Ian Holloway.

Despite being 27, Puncheon has already turned out for nine different clubs, earning a reputation for his inability to settle.

But Pulis feels that his wide-man is content at Selhurst Park and is ready to put his days of transfer moves behind him:

“I didn’t realise he had had nine clubs – that’s more than in my golf bag!” He is quoted by The Mirror.

“He’s happy and we just hope and pray he continues this form until the end of the season.”

“Punch could be anything he wanted to be. Jason has got the tools to be a top player.”

Puncheon started the season on loan at Palace from Southampton, but the switch was made permanent in January as a part of the Londoners’ transfer plans.

He has managed 29 games for his current club this term, notching five goals in the process.
