The former Arsenal and AC Milan star, who lifted the Serie A title with the latter club during the 2010/11 season, left the Emirates Stadium upon the expiration of his contract in June.
He’s since been available as a free agent and according to The Guardian, his representatives have held talks with Crystal Palace, AC Milan, Roma and Olympiacos.
Palace were in the market for a defensive midfielder during the final days of the summer window after selling Mile Jedinak to Aston Villa.
However, chased deals for Everton’s James McCarthy, Venezuela captain Tomas Rincon and Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere – who went on to sign for Bournemouth on loan instead – came to nothing.
Flamini is seen as an available alternative and Palace have only registered 24 players to the Premier League, meaning there is space for the 32-year-old in their squad.
