The Eagles received a £40million offer from the Gunners and were quick to reject, leaving those at the Emirates needing to submit an improved fee.

But according to the Evening Standard, the north London side will have to double their original bid if they are to match Palace's asking price.

The 51-year-old's former club are able to play hardball with Arsenal given they do not need to sell following the money accumulated from the sale of Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United for £50m.

So, in Jordan's words, Arsenal may not be able to have what they can't afford, especially if Palace do not budge from their £80m valuation.
