Crystal Palace fans on Twitter have taken a huge sigh of relief after it was revealed that Everton forward Oumar Niasse is close to a move to Cardiff, having been strongly linked with a move to Selhurst Park.
The Eagles have seen just one striker score a goal for them this season in Jordan Ayew, and have already allowed Alexander Sorloth to depart the club on loan, leaving the Ghanaian, Christian Benteke and Connor Wickham as Roy Hodgson’s only options up top.
Palace have made no secret of their desire to sign a new frontman this season, and were linked with the out-of-favour Senegalese striker earlier this month as a solution to their problems – which is quite frankly baffling given the fact Niasse hasn’t scored, or barely featured, at all for the Toffees this season.
As you would expect, Palace fans have counted themselves lucky that Cardiff have put those links to bed…
Cardiff are getting Niasse on loan. There is now an actual chance of us getting a decent striker in!! #CPFC

Niasse off to Cardiff, that puts an end to us signing a striker this window then. #cpfc

I’m happy we didn’t get him. But we need a striker, just hope Parish has someone in mind

Niasse found his level then.
