Crystal Palace fans discuss reported Cenk Tosun move

Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after Turkish media outlet Spor Arena claimed via their official Twitter account that Cenk Tosun is ‘seriously considering’ an offer from the Eagles, having seen his game time limited at Everton this season following Richarlison’s arrival – he has made just six Premier League starts this season, as per Transfermarkt.

The Turkish international almost moved to Selhurst Park back in the summer of 2017 from Besiktas, before a move collapsed over the structure of payments as reported by the Evening Standard. Tosun eventually joined the Toffees the following January in a huge £27m deal (as per the BBC), but has struggled for consistent game time in attack at Goodison Park.

Since arriving on Merseyside the 27-year-old has made just 18 Premier League starts in just over a year, managing to score seven goals in that time, as seen on Whoscored.

That record isn’t particularity dreadful, and it isn’t near as bad as the form of Palace’s existing strikers, who, except for Jordan Ayew’s sole strike, haven’t scored a league goal between them all season.

Roy Hodgson and Steve Parish have just a week left to secure signings before deadline day rolls around, and Palace fans appear keen to see a deal for Tosun get over the line…
