Crystal Palace have been linked with Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere, after Emery will not offer Wilshere a guaranteed starting place, according to the Daily Mirror.
The midfielder is not part of Gareth Southgate’s England squad, after a mediocre season with the Gunners. The move would mean Wilshere would link back up with his former England boss Roy Hodgson.
Wilshere would signal a real intent from Palace to improve on their 11th placed finish last term. Wilshere possesses even more quality on the ball and in the pass than Yohan Cabaye, who is rumoured to be leaving Selhurst Park in this window
Service to the front men has proved a major problem for the Eagles, who failed to score in their opening seven games, and are over reliant on Wilfried Zaha to create chances. A player with the passing accuracy of Wilshere moving to South London has certainly excited the Palace faithful.
Here’s what Crystal Palace fans have been saying about the Wilshere links on Twitter…
Really hope the Wilshere rumours are true. Brilliant player on his day and Roy got the best from him with England (see Slovenia away) #cpfc

I love Yohan Cabaye and want him to stay but swapping him for Jack Wilshere makes a whole lot of sense for all parties.#CPFC

It’s easy to forget that Jack Wilshere is still just 26 years old.
If he can stay injury free, he could be a huge player for us.

If you don't want Wilshere pulling the strings in the #cpfc midfield then something is very wrong with you…
