Crystal Palace fans on Twitter have shown their relief after a report by ESPN saying that Liverpool won't sell Eagles target Simon Mignolet for £8m.

The Evening Standard reported on Tuesday that the south London outfit were lining up an £8m move for the Belgium international, with arch-rivals Brighton and Hove Albion also keen.

However, ESPN later said that the Reds have no intention of letting the 6 ft 4 stopper go for that price, and that they expect the 31-year-old to remain at Anfield this summer.

A move for the former Sunderland man would have been slightly confusing on Palace's part, seeing as they already have Vicente Guaita and Wayne Hennessey fighting for the number one jersey at Selhurst Park.

Eagles supporters on social media clearly feel that either Mignolet isn't good enough or he isn't a priority addition this summer given their positive reactions to the transfer update, with one saying "at last, some good news", and another simply saying "phew!"

If Palace sell Wan Bissaka and Zaha, will they be in another relegation battle? One fan gives his opinion in the video below...

Unsurprisingly, one individual also brought up the club's need for a new striker, with Michy Batshuayi and Jordan Ayew both due to return to their parent clubs following loan spells from Chelsea and Swansea City respectively.
