Crystal Palace fans pick their “best signing since Yohan Cabaye”

A Crystal Palace fan on Twitter decided to ask fellow supporters who they felt their club’s “best signing since Yohan Cabaye” was, and there was a clear winner in centre-back Mamadou Sakho.

The Eagles signed Cabaye from Paris Saint-Germain in 2015, and he went on to score 10 goals and provide a further six assists in 109 appearances of the south London outfit.

Since then there certainly hasn’t been an abundance of great additions through the Selhurst Park door, but the likes of Sakho and midfielder Luka Milivojevic are two stand out names in particular.

The former joined from Liverpool in 2017 and despite a few injury issues, he has still made 55 outings in all competitions for Palace in his two seasons under the leadership of Roy Hodgson, and very briefly Frank de Boer.

The 29-year-old has more often than not been a rock at the heart of the Eagles’ defence alongside James Tomkins, and played a big role in the side having a better defensive record than Manchester United in the Premier League in 2018/19.

Are Crystal Palace right to slap a £100m valuation on Wilfried Zaha’s head? Check out the video below to see why they are…

The following Palace supporters certainly feel the Frenchman gets the nod over the likes of Milivojevic, with one saying “Sakho 100%” when asked the question, and another saying “Sakho, Luka close second”.

Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
