Lots of Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was revealed that Andros Townsend had missed out on a spot in the final three in the race for the Puskas goal of the year award.
The England international was a nominee for the award thanks to his scorching strike against Manchester City at the Etihad back in December, as the Eagles pulled off a shock 3-2 win over the champions on their own turf.
Townsend watched the ball drop out of the sky before rifling a first-time volley into the top right-hand corner, and given the quality of the strike, he is unlucky to miss out on a place in the final three.
One fan said that Townsend’s exclusion from the shortlist is a ‘travesty of justice’, whilst another thinks it’s a ‘disgrace’ that the Palace No.10 is no longer in the running for the award.
