Crystal Palace fans react as Andros Townsend fails to make the Puskas shortlist

Premiership Picks

Lots of Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was revealed that Andros Townsend had missed out on a spot in the final three in the race for the Puskas goal of the year award.

The England international was a nominee for the award thanks to his scorching strike against Manchester City at the Etihad back in December, as the Eagles pulled off a shock 3-2 win over the champions on their own turf.

Townsend watched the ball drop out of the sky before rifling a first-time volley into the top right-hand corner, and given the quality of the strike, he is unlucky to miss out on a place in the final three.

One fan said that Townsend’s exclusion from the shortlist is a ‘travesty of justice’, whilst another thinks it’s a ‘disgrace’ that the Palace No.10 is no longer in the running for the award.

Let’s take a look at a few more replies from the Palace supporters on Twitter…
