Crystal Palace fans react as Christian Benteke hints at an exit from Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after Christian Benteke hinted at a potential exit from Selhurst Park in January.

The 28-year-old – who became the Eagles’ club-record signing when they paid £27m for his services – has netted just four goals in his last 60 appearances for the south Londoners.

Having lost his place in Palace’s starting XI to Jordan Ayew this term, Benteke revealed to Belgian outlet La Derniere Heure that he will have to “think about the January transfer window” as he aims to secure a spot in Roberto Martinez’s squad for the European Championships.

“I also have to think about the January transfer window. I will give it some thought and I’ll see what can be done.”

The former Liverpool man’s comments came after he scored twice for Belgium in their 6-1 win over Cyprus, and his revelation has sparked a reaction from a lot of Palace fans on Twitter.

One supporter said that Benteke is “not good enough” to compete in the Premier League, whereas another fan said “let him go” after calling the forward a “shambles”.
