While one goal-shy striker extended his stay at Selhurst Park this week, another could be set to leave for China this summer – according to The Times, Christian Benteke is the subject of a £15m bid from Shandong Luneng Taishan.
Despite making a big splash in his first season in red and blue having signed for Crystal Palace in summer 2016, the towering Belgian has been a shell of that dominant hitman for the past two years, scoring just four league goals.
The Eagles stand to lose big on the misfiring number 17 having shelled out an initial £27m to bring him to south London from Liverpool, although they likely won’t care too much – with the 6 ft 3 flop raking in £130,000-a-week, they’ll surely just be glad to be rid of him.

The 34-cap international’s exit would go a long way toward balancing the books, meaning that Roy Hodgson and co can set about bringing in a top quality replacement to finally solve their striking woes.
Here’s what the Selhurst Park faithful had to say about the possible departure on Twitter…
Great news 😀

Off even, whoops 😂😂😂 yeah he's not worth it, cut our losses and move on

If you get offered £15m for a player with a record as atrocious as that you take it and run. I like him, he has battled admirably against both physical and mental issues and was okay towards the end of the season, but now has to go.
