Spurs’ title hopes have been dealt a huge blow after Harry Kane limped off the pitch following the weekend’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester United – with Heung-min Son on international duty with South Korea, the Lilywhites are lacking a hitman beyond 33-year-old Fernando Llorente.
The England captain could now miss up to 11 games for the north London outfit, who will now be without their serial top-scorer – that includes their FA Cup clash with Crystal Palace.
While Mauricio Pochettino and co will be cursing their luck, the Eagles are surely counting their lucky stars that they will not have to contend with a player many regard as the best striker in the Premier League next Sunday – Mamadou Sakho and James Tomkins would surely prefer to face the lumbering Llorente.
A Christian Eriksen piledriver was enough to give Spurs a victory over the Selhurst Park outfit the last time the two met but Palace fans are getting stars in their eyes as they debate their chances of cup progression now that Kane is out of the question – you can check out the best reaction on Twitter below…
