Lots of Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after academy prospect Kian Flanagan had some pretty damning words about the structure of the process through to the first-team.

The 20-year-old Irishman - who attracted interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United back in 2015 - has expressed his concern and frustration over the current process of progressing through the ranks at Selhurst Park.

Flanagan said: "This is our fourth U23 season. We really shouldn’t be here this season. We should be out on loan, honestly.”

He has a point. The Eagles have somewhat neglected their academy since earning promotion, bringing only Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who now plays for Manchester United, through from the academy into the first-team since 2013.

Flanagan is clearly a player of some ability having attracted the interest of the aforementioned clubs, while he also won the Under-23 Player of the Year award last term.

One fan below said that they "love the honesty" from Flanagan, while another stated that the team "doesn't seem to care about the youth movement".

Let's take a look at some more of the Twitter reaction to Flanagan's comments...
