On Tuesday evening, Crystal Palace's official Twitter account sent out a post which stated that the team's total of 33 points from 27 Premier League matches this season is their best ever return at this stage of a campaign.

Indeed, the Eagles are three points better off than they were at this stage of the 2018/19 season, whilst they have eight points more than 2016/17.

As it stands, Roy Hodgson's side are 13th in the Premier League table.

The capital outfit beat Newcastle United 1-0 on Saturday but have actually lost three of their last four in the league, whilst their success over the Magpies was their first victory of 2020.

As a result, many Palace fans have insisted that their team should be even better off after 27 matches of the season.

Meanwhile, some have said that they are not too bothered about their team's total at this stage and would rather address such matters at the end of the season.

Another supporter called the revelation "underwhelming".

Did he really play for us?! No Palace fan has managed to name all of these obscure Eagles signings....

Indeed, the fact that Palace have been on such a disappointing run but can still boast their highest tally at this stage is an indication of how impressive they were in the opening months of the campaign.

Meanwhile, a number of Palace supporters have been reacting to a hugely surprising transfer report.
