Crystal Palace are rumoured to be offering star man Wilfried Zaha a new contract, in a bid to deter interest from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 25-year-old Ivorian is crucial to the Eagles. In all nine Premier League matches in which he did not start last season, Palace went on to lose all nine. With plentiful pace and trickery, and also an eye for goal, news of a new contract has come as welcome news to Palace fans.

Although he was offered a new £100,000-per-week deal as recently as summer 2o17 to keep him at Selhurst Park, he will feel his performances merit him being the top earner at the club.

Whilst Roy Hodgson will no doubt be invested in improving the squad this summer, his most valuable business is likely to be securing Palace's talisman.

On his day he is unplayable and frightens some of the best defences in the Premier League, so Palace will certainly not want to lose their man to a League rival in Tottenham Hotspur.

Here's how the news went down with Crystal Palace fans...
