According to French media outlet Foot Francais, Montpellier are demanding €8m (£7.4m) if they are to sell Crystal Palace target Ruben Aguilar before Thursday's transfer deadline, and Eagles fans have been quick to react on Twitter.

The south London outfit are clearly looking to sign a new right-back following the departure of Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United earlier in the summer, and have already seen a £25m bid for Chelsea's Reece James rejected.

L'Equipe, via Get French Football News, reported last week that Roy Hodgson's side, along with Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion and Southampton, were all keen on Aguilar, and now the price tag they will need to pay to sign the 26-year-old has been revealed.

Of course, that sort of fee is nothing in the current climate of crazy numbers being bandied about, and he could be a great addition from an attacking sense in particular given he provided four assists in 29 Ligue 1 appearances last term.

Eagles supporters have taken to social media to have their say on the link, and while one individual simply urged the club to just "pay it", another remained sceptical about sporting director Dougie Freedman's ability to get a deal done in what has been a relatively quiet summer to date, saying "Freedman would bid half that".
