Crystal Palace fans want Reiss Nelson as part of any Zaha to Arsenal exchange deal

Crystal Palace fans on Twitter want Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson to be part of any potential exchange deal that could see Wilfried Zaha move to the Emirates.

According to the BBC, the north London outfit want the Ivory Coast international and he wants to make the move to the Emirates to link up with Unai Emery, but money is a big issue.

The Gunners’ summer transfer budget is reported to be set at £45m, while the Eagles want up to £80m for their prized asset, although the BBC report they are reluctant to sell this summer having already seen Aaron Wan-Bissaka depart for Manchester United.

Something has got to give then, and The Sun reported last month that Arsenal could offer their capital rivals Calum Chambers, Carl Jenkinson or Reiss Nelson as part of a cash-plus-player deal – the Daily Star also reported on Saturday that a player could possibly be used as a makeweight.

Palace supporters on social media have been discussing potential deals they would be willing to accept, and a name that kept cropping up again and again was that of Nelson.

The versatile 19-year-old winger hit eight goals in 31 appearances on loan at Bundesliga side Hoffenheim last term, impressing as a result.

Of course, Roy Hodgson would likely be looking for a winger should Zaha go, and getting one in return would sort that issue – in the short term at least.

Eagles fans seem to agree, with one individual saying “I’d take £60m and Nelson”, while another said “£60m + Reiss Nelson might do the trick”.
