Crystal Palace fans will have spent much of the summer desperately hoping that Wilfried Zaha would remain at Selhurst Park.

The Palace academy product has become a talismanic presence at the club since his return from Manchester United in 2014. Last season, the Ivory Coast international was instrumental to the Eagles’ Premier League survival.

If Roy Hodgson’s side are to secure top flight status once again, then they’ll need Zaha to replicate his excellent form from the previous campaign.

The 25-year-old made a good start against Fulham yesterday, posing a constant threat to the Cottagers’ back line and popping up with a goal late on to secure the three points.

With the English transfer window having shut, and Zaha having remained a Palace player, fans of the club will be optimistic about the season ahead.
