Jeffrey Schlupp started Crystal Palace's match against Burnley on the bench, only entering the field of play in the 69th minute, when he replaced Andros Townsend.

Just nine minutes after coming on, the 26-year-old, who is rated at £9m on Transfermarkt, had the ball in the back of the net, making the score 2-0 to Palace.

He made the most of Ben Mee's misplaced clearance, taking two touches to bring the ball down before firing it past Nick Pope.

Many fans were thrilled for Schlupp after he got the ball in the back of the net, feeling that the winger took his goal well.

Schlupp hasn't always been the first-choice that Hodgson has called upon, having made eight starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League this campaign.

This was his first goal of the season, which led to one fan stating that "perhaps people will get off his back" after it.

While it was Schlupp who got the ball past the Burnley goalkeeper, Roy Hodgson has also been given some credit for the goal after bringing him on.

One fan referred to the former England manager as a "tactical genius", with the introduction of Schlupp being just one decision he made that contributed to the 2-0 victory.

The 26-year-old's strike made things a lot more comfortable during the latter stages, as well as adding an extra layer of satisfaction after the final whistle had been blown.
