Crystal Palace suffered a disastrous 1-0 defeat to Derby County in the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon, in which they lost a few more players to injury - and one to suspension  - while also falling at the first hurdle in a cup competition for the second time this season - the Eagles also exited the Carabao Cup after a defeat to Colchester.

Roy Hodgson will now be without Luka Milivojevic for three games after the Serbian's straight red card, while Max Meyer and Jairo Riedewald also picked up injuries against the Rams.

There was, however, a glimmer of encouragement within Derby's XI, as a transfer target for Palace performed well against them at Selhurst Park.

Who was it?

Jayden Bogle.

The Derby right-back has been linked with a switch to south London, while three other Premier League clubs are also said to be keen on the teenager.

West Ham, Burnley and Brighton have been linked to Bogle along with Palace, with the 19-year-old rated at £7m.

Derby's No.37 impressed last season with two goals and nine assists in the Championship, while he has also grabbed three assists this term.

How did he do?

Despite facing Premier League opposition, Bogle didn't look phased in the slightest and went on to deliver a solid performance at both ends of the pitch.

The youngster kept Jordan Ayew quiet down the right flank, while also providing the assist for the only goal of the game.

It was his whipped delivery that found former Palace striker Chris Martin in the box, who prodded past Wayne Hennessey.

In addition to his assist, Bogle also could've - and perhaps should've - had a goal to his name as well, although he headed into the ground and over the bar with the goal gaping.

Ignore that miss, and it was a composed showing from one of the youngest players on the pitch - on a day where plenty went wrong for Hodgson and Palace, they may have been left salivating over their transfer target's performance and also dreaming of what he could offer them should he arrive in south London this month.
