Crystal Palace to move for Manchester City outcast

Abdisalam Ibrahim (Manchester City)Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway is ready to make a January move for Manchester City midfielder Abdisalam Ibrahim, according to reports from The Mirror.

The Norwegian youngster’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and the Sky Blues are keen to sell once he returns from a loan spell in his homeland with Stromgodset.

Ibrahim is due to leave the Scandinavian side in December, but could be on the move once again just a matter of weeks later.

Palace are one of a number of sides watching the 22-year-old, with Holloway desperate to add some quality to his side to avoid an immediate return to the Championship.

Ibrahim has often been compared to former Arsenal icon Patrick Vieira thanks to his rangy playing style.

Although he was expected to develop into a key man at City, the signings of a number of top class international players has seen the starlet’s career at the Etihad Stadium evaporate.

Holloway is hopeful that guaranteed first-team football may persuade Ibrahim to reject overtures from a number of more illustrious clubs from across Europe.

Palace have made a poor start to the season and currently occupy 19th position in the Premier League standings.
