Crystal Palace to move for Wigan ace

Callum McManamanCrystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has launched a £5m move for Wigan starlet Callum McManaman, according to reports from The Mirror.

The Eagles are desperate to add depth to their squad in the coming days in a bid to avoid an immediate return to the Championship.

Holloway has outline McManaman as his top target, and has made an initial move for the Latics star.

The Bristolian worked with the 22-year-old for three-months at former club Blackpool, and is believed to still be a big fan of the winger’s abilities.

However, despite their drop to the second tier, Wigan are far from keen to park with one of their top players.

McManaman is believed to be open to a return to the Premier League, where he impressed last season.

The wide-man was a key part of the DW Stadium-based side’s FA Cup victory, but some fine league performances were not enough to drag his side clear of relegation.

Palace are hopeful that £5m will be enough to steal him away from one of the sides they replaced at the top table, and want to push through a deal as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Holloway is also keen on West Ham’s Ricardo Vaz Te.
