Crystal Palace weigh up move for Tottenham old boy

Tottenham defender William GallasCrystal Palace manager Ian Holloway is keen to seal a deal for William Gallas, according to reports from The Mirror.

The French centre-back was released by Tottenham at the end of last season an, as of yet, has been unable to find a new club.

But, Palace are keen to offer him a Premier League lifeline, with Holloway desperate to add experience to his ranks.

Gallas spent a large chunk of his career with Chelsea before joining Arsenal and then moving on to play for Tottenham, picking up two Premier League titles and a League Cup win during his time.

The Eagles face a tough task to avoid an immediate return to the Championship, and their Bristolian boss believes that adding some know-how to his team will help them to achieve their goals.

At 36-years-of-age, Gallas is certainly in the twilight years of his career, but Holloway is confident that he can still perform at the highest level on a regular basis.

The veteran defender has been linked with moves to the Middle East and the MLS, but could be tempted by one last spell in England.

Meanwhile Palace are set to miss out on QPR’s Joey Barton, who revealed that he will be staying at Loftus Road.

Crystal Palace fans, would William Gallas add the experience your side need?
