Back in the January transfer window, Crystal Palace were believed to be interested in signing Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard, while they were also said to be keen on Rangers hitman Alfredo Morelos too.

Eventually, the Eagles only signed Cenk Tosun on loan from Everton.

In Edouard's case, the Frenchman ended up staying at Celtic Park where he has since embarked on his first taste of the Europa League Round of 32 this term - he definitely seized his moment.

The former Paris Saint-Germain striker was relatively quiet against Copenhagen as the Hoops grabbed a 1-1 draw in the first-leg, taking a vital away goal back to Celtic Park with them.

Edouard had just 37 touches and made 17 passes - both of which were the fewest of all his Celtic teammates - while he ended the game with a passing accuracy of just 64.7%.

However, he showcased his best quality with one moment in the 14th minute.

The 22-year-old received a pass from Callum McGregor inside the box, before firing a shot beyond Karl-Johan Johnsson into the bottom right corner with a clinical finish.

It was one of four shots which Edouard managed to get on target in Thursday evening's game, which in truth was the extent of his positive involvement as he failed to register a single key pass or dribble, while he wasn't fouled once - nor did he record a tackle, block, clearance or interception.

However, the man is paid to score goals, which is exactly what he did against Copenhagen - in that respect, it's hard to fault him for his otherwise quiet display.

He may well have had a quiet night in Denmark for the Bhoys, but he popped up to net a vital goal for Neil Lennon on a night where he showcased his best quality - finding the net, even when not being heavily involved throughout.
