Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Sun on Sunday (print version, 26th January, page 61) revealed that the Eagles are ‘readying’ a £4m bid to sign West Brom prospect Nathan Ferguson.
The Baggies full-back – who has made 20 starts in the Championship this season – is also believed to be on the radar of Atletico Madrid and Juventus, and is free to open talks with clubs from abroad on a pre-contract basis seeing as he is out of contract in the summer.
This appears to have encouraged the south Londoners to make their first move, with a £4m bid being readied, whereas the aforementioned print report states that Tottenham have pulled out of the race as a result of foreign sides now being able to talk to the 19-year-old.
As aforesaid, Ferguson has made 20 Championship starts this term, scoring once and assisting once, while also showcasing his versatility by appearing on both sides of defence – the teenager has made 11 appearances at left-back, and nine at right-back.
The West Brom No.36 averages 2.4 tackles per game, and embarks on 1.5 dribbles per 90 minutes.
Let’s see how the Crystal Palace fans on Twitter reacted to the news…
give em £6m and secure him. we need to be all over this for that price
— owen (@owenw_14) January 26, 2020
To kick off the reaction, Owen demanded that the Eagles give West Brom £6m to “secure him” as the south Londoners “need to be all over this for that price” – Roy Hodgson could do with another full-back, seeing as he has just Joel Ward and Patrick van Aanholt as his only natural options.

We should’ve got this over the line 3 weeks ago. Top signing. Won’t happen though
— Lewis (@Lewisse25) January 26, 2020
Elsewhere, Michael begged for this deal to happen before Lewis replied saying that “we should’ve got this over the line three weeks ago” – he then went on to say that it would be a “top signing” but it also “won’t happen though”.
Please oh lord give us this one good thing

Please @CEO4TAG, please 👍🙌👏🙏🙏🙏🙏
— Hoy Rodgson (@HRodgson) January 26, 2020
Meanwhile, Dan and ‘Hoy Rodgson’ were also seemingly desperate for this transfer to materialise.
Dan said “please oh lord give us this one good thing” in slightly dramatic circumstances, whereas the other fan simply tagged Steve Parish’s Twitter account and said please twice.

Lastly, @cpfcbailey simply said that this update on Ferguson was “promising” – it remains to be seen how Slaven Bilic’s side respond to the offer.
