Alan Pardew, having recently, signed Emmanuel Adebayor, is probably thinking that his striker hunt is over, but we think he would be well advised to add Michy Batshuayi to his squad before the window closes, too.

The Eagles have had a dip in their form of late and, much like the end of his Newcastle days, Pardew's side have looked disjointed in attack, resulting in a poor run of scoring form.

The flair of Yannick Bolasie and Wilfried Zaha briefly lit up the league earlier in the season, but Palace fans will still be optimistic of a European finish, as Liverpool and Manchester United continue to drop off the pace.

In a season with such huge opportunity, the Eagles, who are growing in ambition, should be competing for a place in the top 6 and signing a player of Batshuayi's calibre would be a huge step in the right direction.

Here are FIVE reasons that Pards should push to sign the Belgian..

Ade's contract hype

Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur - Barclays Premier League

Adebayor is infamous for his lack of motivation and, rightly so, is believed to only perform when he fancies a new contract.

The ex-Spurs striker clearly has issues with his attitude and Pardew has taken a huge gamble bringing him in, so Batshuayi should be added too.

Letting Charlie slip

Queens Park Rangers v Aston Villa - Barclays Premier League

At one point, Palace were bookies favourites to land Charlie Austin. Unfortunately, the Eagles missed out on the ex-QPR man and are left searching for another centre forward.

Could Batshuayi be that man?

Bamford's rant

Patrick Bamford

Bamford's loan being cancelled has left the Eagles short of striking options.

The Chelsea man didn't feature much, but adding Batshuayi would see Adebayor and Wickham act as cover and give the squad the depth required.

Unlike some strikers, Batshuayi is the complete package and the Belgian can do almost anything you would need from your main man.

Have a go..

Michy Batshuayi

Batshuayi, as shown by his remarkable shot per game rate, will try his luck.

For a side that is short of goals, a player that will have a pop is invaluable.
