Crystal Palace travel to the Amex Stadium this Saturday to take on fierce rivals Brighton.

The reverse fixture between these two sides ended in a 1-1 draw at Selhurst Park, after Wilfried Zaha's thumping effort cancelled out Neal Maupay's first-half opener.

Five points separate the pair in the Premier League table, with the Eagles on 33 points while the Seagulls have 28 to their name.

Roy Hodgson's side won their last outing with a 1-0 victory over Newcastle, whereas Graham Potter's men earned a decent result against high-flying Sheffield United with a 1-1 draw.

Here's the XI that we think Hodgson must opt for against Brighton if he is to get a result...

As you might've noticed, we think Hodgson should use the same back four and midfield three as he did against Newcastle.

Specifically, the midfield is a talking point. The Eagles have been lacking creativity in the middle this season with Luka Milivojevic starting 22 Premier League games - in total, they have created the least big chances in the Premier League and had the third-fewest shots on target.

However, while we are not solely blaming the Serbian for these statistics, Palace looked much better against the Magpies in that regard with 18 shots, nine of them on target - as a result, we think Milivojevic should be left out, even if he does recover from the illness which kept him out last week.

Further afield, we have another big shout - Jordan Ayew should be dropped. Hear us out.

As incredible as the Ghanaian has been this season - he's the club's top-scorer with six goals - an attacking trio of Wilfried Zaha, Christian Benteke and Andros Townsend seems like the best bet in this game, purely because Brighton tend to line up with three towering centre-backs.

6 foot 6 Dan Burn, 6 foot 3 Adam Webster and 6 foot 4 Lewis Dunk are all at Potter's disposal, so we think that Benteke's aerial dominance, with Zaha and Townsend running in behind or collecting his flick-ons to feet, will be the Eagles' best bet at breaching such a physical backline.

Premier League Inflation: You won't believe how much these famous transfers would cost today...

Of course, if things are going stale, Ayew can always made a tremendous super sub.

In other news, Patrick van Aanholt is far more important to Crystal Palace than people think...
