Former Crystal Palace midfielder Yohan Cabaye is now a free agent, after he was released from his contract with UAE side Al Nasr, who he only joined back in the summer after leaving Selhurst Park.

The French international was surprisingly let go along with two other foreign imports as Al Nasr looked to trim their squad following the arrival of Benat San Jose, who has been appointed as the club's new manager following a poor start to the season.

Cabaye spent three seasons with the Eagles and was a huge hit in south London, and is still a fans' favourite in SE25 with many supporters desperate to see the 33-year-old back in red and blue. He may not be the player he once was after spending six months in a significantly less demanding league, both physically and mentally, but his departure has been noticeable at Palace with a lack of creativity from Luka Milivojevic and Cheikhou Kouyate, who would struggle to get in the XI if the Frenchman returned, in the middle of the park.

In that respect, would you like to see the former Paris Saint-Germain midfielder back at Selhurst Park? Have your say down below...
