Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after Max Meyer spoke to German outlet Sport1 about his future.

The Germany international - who signed for the Eagles on a free transfer after leaving Schalke in 2018 - has started just six Premier League games under Roy Hodgson this season, making 13 appearances in total.

It comes after he made 15 starts out of a possible 38 last term - it's clear that he has struggled to find a place in the starting XI since arriving at Selhurst Park.

The 24-year-old told Sport1 that he is having "too much fun" in the Premier League, although he "can't and won't rule out anything" in what was a far from definitive statement about his future.

His interview with Sport1 comes just weeks after another German outlet in Bild revealed that the midfielder is unhappy under Hodgson at Selhurst Park, and that he may look to pursue a move away from the club if the former England manager remains at the helm.

However, the 72-year-old's contract is set to expire at the end of the season, so it really does remain to be seen what happens at Crystal Palace.

Let's see what the Eagles supporters on Twitter had to say about Meyer's comments...

To kick off the reaction, Liam had some hard-hitting words.

He said that if Hodgson ruins Meyer, he "will be fuming" while Paddy then said that he'll be "livid" if the Eagles let the German's talent go to waste - as of now, it could be argued that they're doing just that given his lack of starts.

Elsewhere, Adam also shared his views.

He said that the situation is "typical Crystal Palace" as the club signed a player they have "been crying out for" only to play him out of position and then potentially get rid of him - he hasn't left the club just yet Adam!

Meanwhile, @androsisnotbald said that they're "surprised" Meyer doesn't want to leave the club, and that the Eagles "need to get him more involved".

@sim_mz1 then said that the former Schalke player "deserves to leave" Crystal Palace.

Lastly, Orson Cart had a bold statement to share.

They said that if it was a choice between Meyer or Hodgson, there's "only one sane choice" - presumably, he's in favour of keeping the German.
