Max Meyer has been discussing his future with German news outlet Sport1.

The 4-cap Germany international arrived at Crystal Palace from Schalke on a free transfer back in the summer of 2018, but has struggled for a position in the starting XI under Roy Hodgson since signing for the club.

Meyer has started just six games in England's top-flight this season, having made 15 out of a possible 38 in the previous campaign.

As a potential result of his lack of involvement, Sport1 asked him about a possible return to the Bundesliga.

What did he say?

Meyer said: "I still have a contract for a year and a half and I will definitely play at Crystal Palace until summer. I really feel very comfortable. But I can't and won't rule out anything, of course the Bundesliga can become an issue again. The focus is currently on England, the Premier League is too much fun. I'm not thinking of saying goodbye now."

Far from conclusive

The former Schalke man mentions that he is having 'too much fun' in the Premier League and that he isn't thinking about a goodbye just yet.

However, his refusal to rule out a potential return to Germany is interesting.

A report from German outlet Bild just before Christmas said that Meyer is unhappy under Hodgson, and his future at Selhurst Park very much depended on if the former England manager remained at the helm beyond the current campaign.

While that is nothing but mere speculation, it is good to see the midfielder come out and talk about the issue himself, although his comments are far from conclusive and leave things very much in the open.

When did that happen?! Premier League experts will know which surprising clubs these stars once played for...

It remains to be seen where the 24-year-old's future lies following the summer window, and with Hodgson's future at Crystal Palace also very much uncertain with his contract due to expire at the end of the season, there are plenty of reasons to keep an eye on things at Selhurst Park this summer.
