Palace winger reveals he turned down huge money offers

Crystal Palace winger Bakary Sakho has revealed how he turned down mega money offers in order to sign for the club, according to the Daily Star.

Last year’s Championship Player of the Year joined the Eagles on a free after his contract expired with Wolves, who he turned for over a three year period.

He’s revealed how he had offers from all around the world, including ‘crazy money’ in the Middle East.

‘I could have gone to Qatar or Dubai for crazy money but at my age I am not playing for money.’

The French born Mali international joins the likes of Yannick Bolasie, Wilfried Zaha and Jason Puncheon in one of the most exciting attacks in the Premier League.

Now the 27-year old has expressed his ambition to win things while at Selhurst Park, under the stewardship of Alan Pardew.

‘I have a three-year contract here and I can see Palace winning trophies in that time.’

The Eagles travel to Watford today, looking to bounce back from successive defeats against Manchester City and Tottenham.
