Crystal Palace were struggling for goals during the first half of the season, netting just 17 times in their first 19 games. Seven points clear of the drop zone at that time, the Eagles needed a striker who could guarantee they wouldn’t be dragged into a tense relegation battle.

They made a move for Michy Batshuayi by bringing him in on loan from Chelsea and the Belgian delivered with five goals in 11 appearances.
