Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was announced that Jairo Riedewald had won the club's Player of the Month award for January. It comes after the 3-cap Netherlands international made five appearances throughout the month, helping the south Londoners pick up a point against Arsenal at Selhurst Park and Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, while he also partook in a 1-1 draw against Norwich at Carrow Road - a game in which his performance impressed these Palace fans on Twitter.

Riedewald winning the Player of the Month award signals a huge turnaround in his career with the Eagles.

The former Ajax man failed to make a single Premier League appearance last season despite having no documented injury problems, while he failed to play a single second of Premier League action between a 3-2 win over Brighton in April 2018 and the 0-0 draw against Watford earlier this term.

Interestingly, he was only handed a place in the starting XI after injury to Patrick van Aanholt, and even admitted to Roy Hodgson that he didn't think he could play at left-back.

Let's see how the Crystal Palace fans on Twitter reacted to the news...

To kick off the reaction, these two supporters were full of praise for the 23-year-old, and both mentioned time in their tweets.

Stephanie said that the award was "enormously well deserved" before calling Riedewald an "accomplished player" who was overlooked for "too long".

Then 'H' called the Dutchman "my man" before saying that he's "been waiting a long time for this".

Elsewhere, these two supporters mentioned Hodgson in their tweets.

Alex Barton said that he's unsure what the award "says regarding Roy and giving players a chance" although they added that it "says a lot for Jairo's attitude" - he truly has been a great professional amid his spell out of the side.

Also, Zak simply said "have that Roy".

Meanwhile, Victor said that he is "so happy" for the Palace No.44, before stating that he's "quickly becoming" a fan favourite.

Lastly, Joe Walker mentioned PSV Eindhoven's interest in Patrick van Aanholt, and said he'd be "okay with" selling the former Sunderland man and keeping Riedewald, seemingly to be first-choice left-back.

Who on earth is that?!?! Can you name all of these obscure January signings?
