Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Daily Mail reported that the south Londoners are monitoring Allan Saint-Maximin's situation at Newcastle, amid rumours of a fallout with Steve Bruce.

The Magpies only signed the Frenchman from OGC Nice back in the summer, parting with £16.5m to sign the forward who was also linked with a move to Selhurst Park in that same transfer window.

Since making the move to Tyneside, Saint-Maximin has dazzled Premier League defences - not so much in terms of end product having scored once and assisted once, but his tally of 4.3 dribbles per game is the third-most in England's top-flight this term behind Adama Traore and Wilfried Zaha.

The 22-year-old is believed to be frustrated with Bruce's tactics at St James' Park, but is only a matter of months into the six-year contract which he signed back in the summer.

As well as Crystal Palace, Wolves are also believed to be monitoring Newcastle's No.10 - imagine Saint-Maximin's dribbling prowess in the same side as either Zaha or Traore!

Let's see what the Crystal Palace fans on Twitter have been saying about the news...

To kick off the reaction, these two fans mentioned the Eagles' former winger Yannick Bolasie, with one saying that Saint-Maximin is the replacement Palace have been needing for three years.

The flamboyant DR Congo forward was definitely a great foil for Zaha during his time at Selhurst Park, helping the club achieve promotion and numerous Premier League survivals.

Elsewhere, these two supporters were left dreaming of the prospect of Zaha and Saint-Maximin lining up alongside each other.

The duo record a combined 8.9 dribbles per game in the Premier League this season, so having both of them on either wing would surely be a spectacle to behold.

Lastly, these two fans seemed desperate to see the Frenchman signed - one even telling club chairman Steve Parish that his arrival is a must.

Without wanting to speculate, the Eagles haven't made a big-money signing for a while - the last player signed for over £9m was Cheikhou Kouyate in the summer of 2018 - so there could well be money in the bank to prise Newcastle's star man away.
