Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after Fanatik (print version, via Sport Witness) reported an update in the transfer saga involving Mamadou Sakho and Trabzonspor.

The Turkish Super Lig outfit recently expressed their interest in signing the 29-cap France international, and Fanatik have now revealed that Trabzonspor feel that their 'close ties' with the Eagles can help them in their pursuit.

Trabzonspor feel that the deal which saw Alexander Sorloth join them on a two-year loan has led to a close relationship with the south London side, which they intend to use to sign Sakho.

Fanatik add that talks will be held between Palace and Trabzonspor in the coming days, and the Turkish side will weigh up whether they can afford him or not.

The 29-year-old has only managed to start six of Palace's 22 Premier League games this season, having struggled with injury issues while also receiving a three-match ban for a red card picked up against Bournemouth.

In total, he has made 63 appearances since signing for the club in a £26m move from Liverpool.

Let's see how the Palace fans on Twitter reacted to Fanatik's update...

To begin the reaction, Phil said that, on his day, Sakho is the best centre-back Palace have ever had, although he wouldn't be against selling him in order to get the Frenchman's £100k-a-week earnings off the wage bill.

Elsewhere, these two fans decided to name a figure they would take for Sakho.

Sam Waters said it would be "very very good business" if Palace got £30m for the defender, which, in all honesty, seems unrealistic given his injury issues and advancing years.

Another fan, also named Sam, said that it would "have to be at least £18m+" before saying that the former PSG man is "only 30" - he's 29, but the point remains a valid one.

Furthermore, this supporter with the username 'RedNBlue' felt that this news shows how "criminally underrated Sakho is for us" - implying that they do not think the centre-back should be sold.

Another fan named Michael didn't even seem keen to entertain the news from Fanatik, saying that it was an "absolute non starter" - it remains to be seen if this move has legs or not.

Lastly, this fan mentioned Sakho's injury problems, and said that maybe "it's time to get rid of both him & Benteke" - ruthless.
