Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after they discovered that Alexander Sorloth had netted his 22nd goal of the campaign in a 2-1 win over Sivasspor on Sunday. The 22-cap Norway international's well-taken strike saw Trabzonspor rise to the top of the Turkish Super Lig, moving one point above Basaksehir with a game in hand over the second-place side.Sorloth is quite simply having a brilliant season, having also registered six assists to take his total goal involvements this term to 28 in just 33 appearances.Embarrassingly for his parent club Crystal Palace, Roy Hodgson's side have only scored 23 goals in all competitions collectively - their out-on-loan striker really is showing them up.

Perhaps more humiliating, however, is the fact that the Eagles included a purchase obligation for Trabzonspor to sign the 24-year-old for just €6m (£5m) in January 2021 - which is less than the £9m which was paid to FC Midtjylland for his signature in January 2018.

Let's see how the Crystal Palace fans on Twitter reacted to his 22nd strike of the season...

To kick off the reaction, HLTCO simply outlined the embarrassing statistic which we mentioned above.

@PRhunter101 then responded that it is not something that they "lose sleep over" - fair enough.

Elsewhere, Sean Perry said that his "worry about this" is that maybe Hodgson is the problem and not Sporting Director Dougie Freedman or the board - it does seem as if the former England boss has made an error of judgement here.

@androsisnotbald then said that it "would be worth" giving Sorloth a chance when the current campaign is over - you can't say that the forward hasn't earned one, at least.

Lastly, these two supporters both commented on the specific nature of Sorloth's 22nd goal.

Frank said that he wishes any of the Eagles' strikers had that sort of movement in the box - the Norwegian's near post run and finish was very impressive, in all honesty.

Mikey then mentioned that "anyone with a footballing brain" can see that the out-on-loan attacker is full of confidence given the timing of his run.
