Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after Aksam revealed that the Eagles have been 'pulsing repeatedly' to try and bring Alexander Sorloth back to Selhurst Park, although they have received 'constant negative responses' from Trabzonspor in their bid to do so.

The 22-cap Norway international joined the Super Lig side back in the summer on a two-year loan deal, while Trabzonspor have the option to sign the striker permanently in January 2021 for just €6m (£5.1m) - Aksam's report says that the club can pay this figure earlier in order to make Sorloth their player on a permanent basis.

Aksam also reveal that Aston Villa were left impressed by the former Rosenborg forward, and are planning a £15m bid to sign him this summer - Ligue 1 side Monaco are also said to be keen.

Despite technically being owned by the south Londoners as things stand, the option to buy in Sorloth's contract with Trabzonspor - which, presumably, seems very likely to be activated seeing as he has scored 21 goals this term - basically means that the Eagles have rendered themselves helpless in this scenario.

You can see why they are trying to get the 24-year-old back, although they may have made it too difficult.

Let's see how the Crystal Palace fans on Twitter reacted to the news...

To kick off the reaction, these two supporters didn't sound too happy.

George asked "how can you be so stupid" after hearing the news - whoever agreed the measly option to buy does appear to have made an error of judgement in this case.

Martin then called whoever made the agreement an "idiot" - it's hard to argue with this claim.

Elsewhere, these two supporters bemoaned the thought process behind the decision to loan Sorloth out on the terms he left on.

@CPFC_MB said that it was "bad business" from Dougie Freedman and Steve Parish, before adding that the club didn't protect themselves "in any way, shape or form" - the Eagles seem to have left themselves helpless.

Then, Anthony called the decision "absolutely clueless" and that it "just highlights how bad our decisions are".

Lastly, Eric also called the club "clueless".

Someone's got to own them: Who do these incredibly unwanted PL records belong to?

Ryan then expressed his confusion over the situation, asking if Crystal Palace actually own Sorloth or not.
