The perfect tonic for Crystal Palace?

The return of fan favourite Glen Murray will come as a welcome lift for Crystal Palace in their bid to stay in the Premier League. The 30 year old was sidelined for nine months following a knee injury and made his first appearance of the season in the club’s 3-1 victory over West Brom two weeks ago.

Murray has been a hero for the club, scoring 36 goals in 80 appearances. His return comes at a good time, as Palace have seemed to hit a good run of form in the league and currently sit 15th. Murray’s return will feel like a new signing, as he joins new recruits Tom Ince and Joe Ledley. Tony Pulis insists he will remain cautious with Murray, and use the player as a substitute as he regains fitness.

Pulis stated “Glenn’s got another week under his belt, he’s trained really hard and he’s a natural goalscorer, he got 30-odd goals last year before he got injured so we’re desperate to get him back and get him in the team.”

Palace face Manchester United at home on Saturday night, and will look to continue their form and further pull away from the relegation zone.
