Ever since The Athletic wrote that Crystal Palace's move for Kyle Walker-Peters was 'close' on the eight day of their January Transfer Tracker, we have been on tenterhooks.

However, 11 days later, and the right-back is still at Tottenham.

What's the word, then?

Well, it had been reported that the England U21 international was set for meetings with Roy Hodgson and Ralph Hasenhuttl during the week, and The Telegraph even stated that the Spurs academy graduate was 'hoping' to join the Eagles.

Walker-Peters has struggled for game-time this season, making just three Premier League appearances, as well as one outing each in the Champions League and the Carabao Cup.

Neither Mauricio Pochettino or Jose Mourinho have fancied him, and after an update from The Athletic's Matt Woosnam, it seems as if an exit for the youngster is still no closer to completion.

What did he say?

Woosnam tweeted that Hodgson said: "There was initial contact between the clubs... but as far as I know nothing is happening and I don't know what Tottenham's intentions are for the player."

Far from conclusive, to say the least.

With just 11 days of the window remaining, it looks as if this one will plod along for a bit longer.

Hodgson either doesn't sound too optimistic of a deal happening, or he simply hasn't been kept informed on the latest happenings between Palace's Sporting Director Dougie Freedman and Tottenham's Daniel Levy.

The south Londoners have been boosted slightly at right-back as their only natural option, Joel Ward, has recovered from his injury, although he remains the only man in that role after Aaron Wan-Bissaka was not replaced following his move to Manchester United back in the summer.

As of now, the Eagles have only managed to bring Cenk Tosun through the door this month, with the Turk joining on a loan deal from Everton.

Call yourself a Premier League expert? How much did each of these big-money January signings cost?

We will simply have to wait and see if Palace make any more additions.
