In the aftermath of Crystal Palace's 3-1 defeat to Everton on Saturday afternoon, The Times have published a story detailing Wilfried Zaha's poor form and the potential consequences of it for himself and the Eagles.

What's the word, then?

The Toffees were interested in signing the Ivory Coast international back in the summer, and saw a bid worth £70m + James McCarthy and Cenk Tosun rejected by the south Londoners as they held out for £80m.

Since then, Zaha has only netted three goals and registered three assists in 26 Premier League appearances, which really is not form representative of such a hefty price tag.

While The Times do not factually state that Everton are no longer interested in the former Manchester United man, it does reveal that the Toffees will look for a right winger this summer if 'finances allow', but they will feel there is 'better value' elsewhere.

Doing his chances of a move serious harm

In the summer, Steve Parish stayed firm on his £80m valuation and it seems Zaha will have to prove he is worth that sum, or at least close to it, in order to get the Eagles to sanction an exit.

He handed in a transfer request back in the summer and was believed to be devastated when no move materialised, while The Daily Mail have since suggested a move is still on Zaha's agenda - albeit the Ivory Coast international is happy to stay at Selhurst Park until the end of the season.

But he will quite simply have to play out of his skin in the second half of the campaign to turn potential suitors' heads - six goal contributions really doesn't justify what would be a club-record fee for most of the sides in the Premier League.

Who is that?! Nobody has been able to name the teams all of these obscure managers were once in charge of...

It is no problem for Palace if Zaha stays, for he is still a quality player - there will unlikely be pushing him out the exit door for the sake of a financial windfall. So if he truly wants to force an exit, he is going to need to do more to convince clubs to part with a significant sum for his signature.

Zaha needs to turn his season around to make a big-money move a reality - this report should serve as a real eye-opener for him.
