Newcastle striker Demba Ba has said that he didn’t mean to touch the ball with his hand as he rescued a point for the Toon Army away at Reading.
Ba scored a superb volley to equalise for Newcastle once, but he had to score again to salvage a point after Reading twice took the lead. However, his second goal appeared to hit him on arm before it went into the net after he missed his header, but Ba claims he would never deliberately do that.
“Fergie just crossed the ball and I just wanted to hit it with my head,” Ba told Sky Sports News.
“Unfortunately, it touched my hand and went in.
“I would say it is unfortunate for Reading but it is still a point for us.”
Ba added: “What can I say? I just did not want to do it on purpose it was just unfortunate.”
