Words can’t describe what a phenomenal season it’s been for Leicester City and what an incredible transformation they’ve undergone since last season.
Indeed, last term the Foxes spent 140 days at the bottom of the Premier League table; during 2015/16, they spent 137 at the top before eventually claiming the English crown, courtesy of Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, last Monday.
But in case you’re in need of a new context to put the Midlands outfit’s unprecedented rise into, EA Sports have just released a rather incredible set of statistics comparing Leicester City’s popularity on FIFA 15 with the current edition of their annual footballing series, FIFA 16.
As you can see below, the number of players using Leicester more tripled this year, whilst the number of goals scored with Foxes players increased more than six-fold and the number of players declaring themselves as Leicester fans jumped by nearly 200,000! And of course, Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy’s statistics within the game have simply gone through the roof.
Vardy and Mahrez were two players to make it into the EA SPORTS FIFA 16 Ultimate Team – BPL TOTS. To find out who else made the cut, visit https://www.easports.
