Euro giants worried Man United & Arsenal could trigger star’s £35m release clause

Sporting CP are concerned that teams such as Manchester United and Arsenal may move to trigger William Carvalho’s £35m release clause, according to reports from Record.

The Portugal international has long been thought of as one of the Primeira Liga’s top talents and is a first-team regular for the Lisbon side.

However, his salary currently sits at relatively low figure of around £1,000-per-week, but the club are looking to increase this, but negotiations have been slow.

However, talks are on-going, and reports claim that with the longer the situation remains at a stalemate, the more worried the club are growing regarding the £35m release clause in his current terms.

Manchester United and Arsenal have both been linked with him, and it’s claimed that the Estadio Jose Alvalade outfit see them as a threat.

Carvalho, 23, is a full Portugal international, and is likely to be a part of their EURO 2016 set-up.
