Everton and Newcastle ready to battle for Moscow goal machine

Everton and Newcastle are ready to battle it out for the signature of CSKA Moscow striker Seydou Doumbia, according to talkSPORT.

Both clubs are likely to be in the market for a new striker during the summer, with loanee signings Romelu Lukaku and Loic Remy looking unlikely to complete a permanent move to their respective clubs.

Ivorian striker Doumbia has caught the attention of several top clubs across Europe, after firing 13 goals in just 14 league appearances for CSKA this season.

And according to reports in Russia, both Newcastle and Everton have expressed an interest in the in form striker, as they look to bolster their attacks for next season.

Remy and Lukaku have both fired 13 Premier League goals for their respective clubs this season, meaning both Alan Pardew and Roberto Martinez will be desperate to sign a proven goalscorer in the summer should both forwards depart at the end of their loan spells.

Galatasary and Monaco are also believed to be keeping a close eye on the striker, who is valued at £17.5million by CSKA.
