Everton and Stoke keen on Ligue 1 star

Jordan Ayew (Marseille)Everton and Stoke are monitoring Marseille winger Jordan Ayew, according to reports from The Mirror.

The Ghana international is currently on the fringes of the first-team at the Ligue 1 club, and is desperate to play more regularly in the build up to the 2014 World Cup.

This has seen interest from Everton and Stoke spike, with the duo both willing to grant him his wish of guaranteed action over the coming months.

The 22-year-old is highly-rated in France, but inconsistent form has seen his role at Marseille diluted of late.

But that has not deterred the Premier League pair.

Everton chief Roberto Martinez is keen to bolster his attacking options, and sees the youngster as an ideal option to add greater spark to his side’s play in the final third.

Meanwhile, the Potters are also in the fight.

Mark Hughes is desperate to dispel Stoke’s reputation for playing direct and unattractive football.

A number of signings over the summer have gone some way towards doing so, but ‘Sparky’ is still looking to add more players in his desired mould over the coming transfer windows.

Ayew may be familiar to English fans after netting against Arsenal in the Champions League earlier this season.
