Everton and West Ham tracking MLS star

Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders)Stoke, Fulham, Everton and West Ham are all monitoring Clint Dempsey ahead of potential January loan swoops, according to reports from The Mirror.

The American international only left the Premier League over the summer, joining the Seattle Sounders from Tottenham.

But, with the MLS off-season occurring over the winter, the 30-year-old is available for a short-term loan deal.

Interest from English sides is thought to be high, with Spurs having been linked with a swoop to bring back their former man.

However, their attention is believed to have cooled, with Stoke, Everton, Fulham – for whom Dempsey became a fans’ favourite – and West Ham leading the queue.

The versatile attacker is thought to be keen to make a return during the MLS’s break, with maintaining his fitness ahead of the World Cup a priority.

Seattle are said to be willing to let him move on, opening the door for swoops from the quartet.

Stoke are the latest side to have registered an interest, with Mark Hughes keen to bolster his attacking options.

Fulham are also looking at Dempsey with avoiding relegation a priority for Martin Jol, while Everton and West Ham are watching the situation.
